Walker Avenue

Housemate wanted in wonderful Grand Lake house. Hello, my name is Mia My boyfriend Marcus and I are looking for a roommate in our 3 bedroom house centrally located in the Grand Lake area. It is 1475 square ft. with 1 and ½ baths, with with washer and dryer in ground level basement. The house was remodeled in 2015 and now has a nice open layout of communal space and hardwood floors throughout except kitchen and the full bathroom. We appreciate no shoes on indoors! The bedroom has 2 windows and is with 140 square ft. (NOT furnished) excluding an 8 square foot closet.

Location: Our house is located between Grand Avenue and Lakeshore. This is a really fun, and convenient area of North Oakland. The house is on a more residential street so it doesnt feel too busy. If you are not familiar with the area: We are within close walking distance to great restaurants and coffee shops (for example: Grand Lake Kitchen, Arizmendi Bakery, Wilde Brother Coffee, and Zachary’s Pizza). Trader Joe’s, Safeway, the Saturday farmer’s market, retail shopping, second hand stores, juice bar, Boba, Gelato, Noah’s bagels, drug stores, banks, post office, the Grand Lake theatre and much, much more. And, a 25 minute walk to Whole Foods, Lake Merritt is very close and offers nice walks and jogging opportunities and a Gym is a 5 minute walk from the house. AC transit B Bus stops very close by (takes you to Mission and 3rd in San Francisco) Other busses very close by that take you to Down Town Oakland Buss 12 and then buss 6 takes you to UC Berkeley among other choices Ride share to SF is just down the street (casual carpool) they drop you off in the financial district. Bart stations and their distance from house: Lake Merritt – 1.6 miles, 19th St – 1.7 miles, MacArthur – 1.8 miles Close to freeway entrances and Down Town Oakland.

The rental agreement is month to month, no leasing, no subletting. The room is available on November 1st. First and last month’s rent required for moving in as well as a 500 dollar security deposit. Utilities are not included in rent and are on average 75 dollars a month. (lower in summer and higher in winter as we have a heating system) No smoking and not 420 friendly on property.

About us: We are both 24 years old, I work full time and Marcus works part time and studies at SF state. We also have two indoor/outdoor cats and sort of keep to ourselves. What we are looking for: Someone independent, mature, conscientious and dependable with experience sharing a house with other people. Respect and communication regarding common areas and willingness to help clean and/or contribute to cleaning services. Someone that works and or studies full time outside of the house. We are NOT looking to bring any more pets into the house.
