Enjoy the largest bedroom in the house, which has direct access to the pool in a private landscaped yard. The private bathroom, which is accessed only from the room, includes a walk-in shower with a bench seat.

THE HOUSE The house has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. We don’t plan to rent the other bedrooms. You get full use of common areas—we want this to feel like your home too. Amenities include dishwasher, washer/dryer, central air and heat, and everything you need in the kitchen except food. Street parking is easy.   THE ROOM The room is about 11.5’ x 15’ and totals about 230 square feet when you include the bathroom and closets. It has a ceiling fan and lots of windows. If you have a quiet dog or a hypoallergenic cat, we might be willing to consider it.

THE COSTS Allow room in your budget for utilities, gardening service, pool service and housecleaning of shared areas and bathrooms every four weeks. Your monthly payment will vary between $1200 and $1550 (based on historical costs). Or keep it simple and predictable with $1350 per month, all bills paid.    If you would like to pay less in exchange for helping around the house, let us know what you’re good at (e.g., gardening, maintenance, dishes, cooking, CMT), how many hours per week you have available, and how you value it (e.g., $15/hour).

THE HOUSEMATES We’re a gay couple together over 15 years. Don’t worry, we’re drama free. We sometimes relax in underwear, sometimes nude. (No this is not a roommate with benefits situation.) Everyone does what’s comfortable for them, though we also don’t want to feel out of place. We have office jobs.

• We wake up really early and might not be as quiet as we hope
• We keep all shared areas tidy, though sometimes dishes pile up
• We don’t like to hear TV (are you ok with headphones?)
• We’re not okay with cigarette smoke even outside the house
