Hi! We’re Esther and Amrit, a married couple of over 25 years, and we’re offering a charming, private second-floor TWO room-suite (private bedroom AND your own private living room!) for rent in our lovely Plaistow, NH New England cottage, which dates back to the 1800s. We’re looking for a full-time working professional, preferably a single female. If you do have a partner, we’re comfortable with occasional overnight visits (like once or twice a week).

The suite includes a very cozy Bedroom AND a spacious Private Living Room right next to it, giving it more of a studio feel where you can retreat, relax, and feel at home. You’re welcome to bring your own kettle or dorm-sized fridge, as our kitchen fridge won’t have enough room for additional items.

There’s a large shared bathroom downstairs with ample closet space, and a convenient small toilet right next to your suite on the second floor. Our bedroom is across the landing. Your bedroom and living room come fully furnished, with a great full-size bed featuring a Tempur-Pedic-style mattress. We also have several dressers available for you, but if you prefer to bring your own furniture, that’s perfectly fine.

Our home has all the charm of an old cottage, with a stunning kitchen and a sun-filled dining area in the cozy sunroom. We’re looking for a full-time, non-smoking woman who will appreciate the beauty of this space and also value their privacy.

We are a liberal-minded household (yes, we voted for Kamala) and love spending time outdoors, hiking, walking, enjoying a good detective show, and cooking up great meals.

My husband will be working in NJ 3 weeks out of the month, and my son is also at work at least 3 days a week. I am at home, or working in the yard, homesteading, or taking care of my chickens and/or making bread. I am also a reiki healer, pelvic floor practitioner, yoga teacher and menopause coach. My husband is Director of Finance and Business Operations for an environmental company in NJ, and travels a lot. I most likely also will be gone 1 week out of the month to be with him in NJ.

You’ll share the house with our friendly cats, dog, chickens, and, soon, an outdoor hawk! Our 18-year-old son also lives here—he’s mature, works, and has his own space on the other side of the house.

We have a large yard filled with perennial flowers (I’m an avid gardener and homesteader), a patio, and plenty of outdoor space for you to enjoy as well.

We expect you to be clean, tidy up after yourself, help maintain the shared bathroom space, and be respectful of the home. You’re welcome to use the large dining table in the sunroom, while my husband, son, and I usually use the kitchen dining table.

We don’t smoke or drink and would love to find someone who shares our appreciation for the peaceful, warm environment we’ve created. (No smoking in the house or parties, please. Smoking outside is fine.)

As to pets: it depends what kind of pet. We have 2 cats, and a dog already, also some snakes hidden safely away. But any other animal that you have must be super mellow and chill. Of course a fish, or a hamster is fine ;) As for DOGS: we will need to discuss this privately, as my dog is scared of dogs, and I would also need to meet your dog to see if that would work with our dog (she’s scared of large, busy, wild, barking dogs and so that wont work, your dog preferably would a be small, chill, calm and mannered, and also able to walk up and down a stair of flights as it would live in your private quarters on second floor. :))
