About the room

The House: Remodeled craftsman, 2200 sq ft, plus basement storage great for bicycles and gear, small backyard with patio and grill. Large kitchen with recent appliances, living room, tv room and dining room on first floor.

Large tree on south face keeps the house cool on hot days, and I have a strong air purifier for the annual forest fires to keep the place fresh and breathable.

I have a twice monthly house cleaner who handles all the hardcore cleaning. She’s awesome.

Utilities includes fiber-optic internet access, PGE, EBMUD, Waste Management.

Easy parking on street.

The neighborhood: Longfellow, quiet street, good neighbors, city parking lot down the block.

Transit: 10 minute walk to MacArthur Bart, 5 minute walk to Emery-go-round stops, multiple AC transit buses to SF, express and local stops within a block.

Convenience: nearby access to shopping like Target, Ikea, Groceries, Bayview Mall. Walkable to Telegraph Ave. for bars and restaurants, cheap Lyft to downtown Oakland. Fast access to highways if you drive.

Room: Unfurnished, quiet, 14’x17’, overlooks backyard, sizable closet, includes master bathroom, private second story porch with views of the Oakland Hills.

Me: Middle-age professional, male, sharing custody of two dogs with my ex. Organized and clean but not fanatical. I like cooking, backpacking, cycling, skiing, board games. Moderate drinker. Non-smoker. I also like to conserve resources to do my part.

You: Non-smoker. Professional, no cats, lizards, spiders or ferrets, organized, clean, not into: drugs, hard drinking or drama. Small-medium dog possible, depends on how my dogs feel about that and how well trained your dog is.

There is storage available in the basement for a bicycle and sport-camping gear if you need it.

Ideally you are looking for a place to reside for awhile (1 year plus) and want a great living environment to share.

If you like gardening there is opportunity in the backyard.

Seriously, if you are messy, break lots of stuff, forgetful about things like locking the door or leaving the stove or oven on, we’re probably not a good match as roommates. Already been through that before.
