Beacon Street

The Beloved Community House is a 7 bedroom, 3.5 bathroom standalone house on Beacon Street. From our house, it is a 3 min walk to Star Market, 8 min walk to Harvard Divinity School, 9 min walk to Porter Square, 20 min walk to Harvard Square, and a 20 min walk to Union Square. There is 1 available bedroom on the second floor. The house has a ground floor with a spacious kitchen, pantry, 3 large living/dining spaces, and a half bath. The second floor has 5 bedrooms and 1 full bathroom (one of the bedrooms has an ensuite bathroom). The finished garden level has a large living room, 2 bedrooms, one full bath, and a hot tub that is not yet turned on lol (!). There is street parking that requires a Somerville parking permit ($40 a year). We have covered bike storage via an outdoor shed. Our lease doesn’t allow pets, though one of our housemates has a lovely service dog named Coco (non-shedding, 10 pound yorkiepoo, anxious but friendly & very cuddly).

The Beloved Community is a predominantly young adult (26-33 year old), BIPOC community that is inclusive of queer and multicultural identities. We are creatives, horticulturalists, activists, and dreamers with a call to live in deeper relationship with each other. Founded in September 2023, our home is built around values of interdependence, antiracism, open and loving collaboration and communication, and friendship. We seek to cultivate a space in which our physical, emotional, and spiritual needs are held in a community.
