I am a single 33 yo woman with two (hilarious) big dogs. I will be finishing residency in San Francisco and moving to San Diego to start two years of fellowship training at UCSD at the end of June 2023. I am looking for a set-up similar to my current one, which has worked out really nicely. Specifically, I am looking for a roommate to share a 2- or 3-Bedroom apartment with a backyard, dishwasher, in-unit laundry, and easy street parking. Especially in COVID times, having a backyard space has been essential for wellness as well as allowing my dogs a little more space to roam. (I would keep the backyard clean, and for human use, not just dogs.)
Cost/location: I am looking for something that would preferably be $1800 or less per person when split both ways, which allows for utilities/etc on top of that. But depending on the set-up, I may be able to afford a bit more. I have been told the best neighborhoods for my work would be North Park, University Heights, and maybe Hillcrest, but would be open to places like Clairemont, West La Jolla, or Pacific Beach if we found something cool and affordable. I have already found a few great options, but would be easier to move forward with an inquiry if I had a roommate lined up as well.
About me: I am clean, respectful, and sometimes hold social gatherings/dinner parties but always with friends who are also clean and respectful; I don’t foresee many crazy parties in my future haha. I also won’t know too many people in San Diego right off the bat anyway.
About the dogs: They are two very sweet Rhodesian Ridgebacks who love their people but also are not all in your face all the time. I sometimes work 24 hour shifts or night shifts, and it would be so nice if they weren’t left alone for such long periods of time. I will have dog walkers, but they still love the company. They are also very chill indoors and just love to sleep on the couch. They love to sit next to you, but will also listen to you if you are not into it and want to be left alone.
