North Kenmore Avenue

Hello! I just signed the lease on this apartment and need somebody to take over the second bedroom. You will have your own private bathroom as well, and we’ll share the spacious living room and kitchen.

Your bedroom comes unfurnished, but there is a couch and dining table in the living room, plus a TV that has cable hooked up and an Amazon Fire TV with Netflix and Prime video ready to go (you get bonus points if you have Hulu to share). The kitchen is fully stocked with pots, pans, cutlery, baking sheets, and more. I love to cook and will gladly whip up some things to share.

The building and all apartments have recently been refurbished with fancy-looking countertops and stainless steel appliances. More importantly, it has central A/C and heat, washer and dryer units on every floor, a fitness center, and an amazing roof with BBQs, couches, and 360º views of LA, Hollywood, and Griffith Observatory. Speaking of which, I really love the location. Within walking distance, you have Barnsdall Art Park, Los Feliz Village, and a bunch of shops and restaurants on Hollywood Blvd. It’s a very short drive, or a longer walk to get to Silver Lake and Griffith Park, and two Metro Red Line stations are within walking distance. Getting around LA is always going to be a hassle, but this location makes it as easy as possible.

Rent is $1600 per month, plus there are utility bills, that will hike it up to about $1700 a month. Utilities are internet, cable, and power, set up in my name, which we will split evenly. Water and trash bills are divided between all tenants in the building. You’ll also get a parking space in the gated garage for no additional charge. The onsite property manager is really friendly and quick to help with any of your needs.

BUT WAIT, WHO THE HELL AM I? I am a 23-year-old male and recent college graduate. I work downtown 5 days a week. I studied screenwriting in school, so yeah, I’m trying to do that on the side…. But remember, I have a real job too! I spend a lot of my free time writing, and in general, I’m a bit of a homebody. I like to keep things clean and relatively orderly, though I’m not obsessive about it. I’m conflict-averse and prefer someone relaxed. I love cooking, eating, television and movies, stand up comedy, and nba basketball.

WHO SHOULD YOU BE? In your early-mid 20s, relaxed and fairly quiet. Be employed, of course, and timely with rent/bill payments. Having a social life is awesome and bringing a few friends over is fine (it would be criminal not to share the roof), but no parties or really large groups please. It would be awesome if you shared some of my interests listed above, but I love trying new things and can’t wait to see what you bring to the table. Also, sorry, but no pets allowed.
