About the roomies

PLEASE READ THE REQUIREMENTS BELOW BEFORE RESPONDING.

About me:

I’m a female healthcare professional in my late 30’s, active and healthy-ish (although chocolate and Chipotle burritos are my favorite foods), social drinker and non-smoker. I love sci-fi and consider myself a huge nerd (as much of my home decor will show), and even co-host a weekly nerdy/queer podcast. I go BIG decorating for Halloween and Christmas, including full Star Wars Christmas scenes and Hocus Pocus/Jack Skellington displays. I love sports, videography, editing and doing other creative stuff. I’m originally from Texas (Go Cowboys!), but have lived in L. A. for 13 years. I consider myself pretty friendly, and some of my past roommates have become my closest friends. I’m also queer! Just putting that out there.

I have a large, goofy Labrador (Charley), along with my two cats (Duncan and Pumpkin). The house stays relatively tidy, but if you’re a neat freak, living with three pets probably won’t be ideal for you.

The type of roommate I’m looking for:

I’m looking for someone who LOVES animals, especially dogs, because Charley will love you and want to hang out with you, especially if I’m not home. My cat, Duncan, is also a cuddler. Pumpkin, however, will constantly judge you and occasionally let you pet him (if you’re lucky). There will be some dog hair, cat hair, and the occasional hairball (especially with a geriatric cat around), no matter how much I clean, or run around the house with a lint roller. So I want to make sure my potential roommate understands that and is okay with the joy AND messes animals can create.

REQUIREMENTS:

The main reason I’m seeking a roommate is to find someone who will be home some weekdays (or at least early afternoons) and would enjoy having pets around them. This means being willing to let the dog out for a quick midday potty break in the yard, and letting the animals hang around you when I’m gone. Someone with that type of schedule (student, remote work, etc.) will be STRONGLY preferred.

IN YOUR RESPONSE, INCLUDE (a few sentences total is fine):

  • Something that indicates you’re an animal-lover, with experience around animals.
  • If you are home some weekday’s/early afternoons
  • Why you think this place is a good fit
  • Confirm you’re age 24+
  • Please do NOT send a generic copy/pasted response. I’m not in a rush to find someone and want to make sure it’s a good fit.

The leasing company will perform a standard background check and requires a $40 application fee.
