Sutton Club, located just at the crossroads of M-6 and Kalamazoo Ave, is a very quiet and convenient spot for those who want to be close enough to Grand Rapids but far enough away to not be in the midst of the hustle and bustle of the city. The flat is clean and well-maintained, about 1100 sq ft, equiped with a dishwasher, washer and dryer. Everything is currently furnished by myself, so the only furniture you would need is whatever you’ll have in your bedroom. I do have a cat named Pepperoni. She is hypoallergenic so if you do have cat allergies like myself, you might be able to tolerate her after some exposure. The flat is located on the second floor of the building, so no yard available for dogs. There’s a nice deck though, so if you have outdoor furniture there’s space for it. The place is kept fairly clean, though as a freelance painter I do sometimes have canvases lying around in the living room. My name is Owen. I’m a transplant from Chicago currently working at Corewell Health (formerly Spectrum Health) part-time in conjunction with freelance design/animation work. Three things that make me happy: taking pictures of clouds, walking or running for miles on end, and baking a fresh pie from scratch. My days usually start a little earlier than most; 4:00am on days I work at the hospital, 5:00am on days when I work from home. I’m not a night owl anymore and try to hit the hay around 10:00pm. More often than not I’m working on some kind of project, but when I’m not I’m either exercising, reading or trying out new recipes. Outside of the apartment I enjoy being outdoors, either camping or backpacking. Other than that I’m usually found around the city at coffee shops, concerts and other cultural events.

Ideally, who I’m looking for is someone who shares my aforementioned interests. I’m a fairly clean and regimented person (Google Calendar is my savior) and would work best with someone who also has their own routine. I love a good coffee and chat, but I don’t normally work well with folks who are very extroverted. A future roommate would need a job by the time of inquiry, although as a freelancer myself I’d be willing to hear out those whose employment might be a bit more sporadic. And as much as I love them, no dogs please.

I welcome anyone who’s interested in finding out more. I have roomed with men and woman before, many of whom I still share friendships with. I have an open mind to any and all beliefs. I’m 420 friendly, though the apartment complex has a 0-tolerance policy for smoking in the unit. I personally don’t smoke anything and would prefer my roommate didn’t either, though I do enjoy an edible every now and then. I already have the internet linked up to the unit and would split the monthly cost on my account. I don’t own a TV. Personally, I prefer it that way so I can focus while working from home, but I would not be opposed to someone who already owns a TV to setting it up somewhere in the communal spaces. I don’t have people over much. If I’m being honest, I get uneasy with people in my space if I haven’t been introduced to them first, so as a courtesy I’d appreciate a “heads-up” if you’ll be having people over. And I enjoy a good party, but only to a reasonable degree since I share the walls and floors with other people. I don’t have people over hardly ever other than my girlfriend.

To sum up, if you’re someone who has a steady income, who has his/her/their routine down, and who is a good communicator with a creative mindset, then we should meet up and see if this thing will work!
