Come live in this cheerful 1-bedroom apartment, with private newly remodeled bath. It’s a separate apartment at the far end of our house. This gem of a get-away is thoughtfully furnished to make your life easy (includes all basic kitchen furnishings and necessities, bedding, towels).

Take advantage of the expansive lake view from your private balcony. Grab your morning coffee and sit quietly in the sun for a few minutes.

Your bright and spacious kitchen/dining/living area is open concept. It’s comfortably furnished, and its focus is the sliding doors that open onto the balcony. Walk into the bedroom, and you’ll notice the luxury queen memory foam mattress. Spoil yourself by raising the adjustable bed frame for easy viewing of your favorites on the 50-inch Roku smart TV.

We welcome military personnel, nurses, digital nomads, students/interns, professionals on temporary work assignments. The work table in the main room makes it easy to study or to work from home.

The apartment is in a separate section of our well-maintained, comfortable home, which is nestled in a little grove of tall pines.

This safe little neighborhood is tucked away from the bustle but super-convenient to Naval bases and interstates, a straight shot into downtown Norfolk, and only 5 minutes to the beach. It’s just 1 mile to the local shopping district with supermarket, pharmacy, restaurants, coffee shops.

All utilities are included, including high-speed internet. There’s a high-capacity washer/dryer.

We ask you to fill in an application and pay for a background check ($30) so we know who you are, pay a one-time $100 deep cleaning fee, and sign a lease to keep our agreements with one another clear.

In years past we have rented out other homes and apartments in other places. But honestly, this is the loveliest place we’ve been able to offer. My words don’t do it justice. You really have to come take a look in person!

My husband and I (and 3 kitties) live in a separate part of the house that has the private apartment you’re considering. We are professionals, working online part-time from our home office. At times another guest or two may also be renting one of the other bedrooms in the house.
