About the room

Some details about the location: The townhouse is a beautiful end-unit facing a lake in the back, in a really nice and quiet HOA gated community. It is peaceful, safe, and perfectly located just east of I-75 off Colonial Blvd about 1/2 mile north of the Starbucks in the Forum area. The community has a pool, tennis court, and a little gym. Within 1/2 mile walking or biking there is a Target, Home Depot, restaurants, coffee shops, and several universities (Nova Southeastern, Keiser, and Rasmussen), as well as easy access to I-75. I find the location to be absolutely perfect. Hopefully this is exactly where you want to be also, because I am sure for the right person this will be a perfect living situation.

Some details about the home itself: My home is a nearly 2000 sq ft townhome, with large living room, new furniture, large kitchen, downstairs laundry room, screened-in patio with a furniture set, and 3 bedrooms and 2 baths upstairs. I have the primary bedroom and attached bath, you would have the 2nd largest bedroom and 2nd bathroom (not attached but in the hallway). There’s also a den area that I’m turning into an office/library type setup for relaxing with a book. There is a slightly smaller 3rd bedroom which I may look to rent if I find another great person, and in that case your bathroom would be shared with them. The house is well kept, has nice new fixtures, new floors, new fans, and appliances. I’ve installed (and I love) an Ecobee smart digital thermostat so it’s always the right temp and we save money on bills, as well as a Yale smart lock on the door so you can access with just your phone and the door is never left unlocked by accident. There is a 2 car garage but I am building a little home gym with cold plunge on one side of that and I keep my car on the other side. The driveway is big enough to park two cars on. Upon background approval and security deposit with the HOA community, you would be given access to the gate and clubhouse area (pool, tennis, etc.). HOA’s in case you’re unfamiliar with them tightly control who lives in the community, but the upside is living in a very nice and peaceful community that is always kept up and clean. I was really anti-HOA when I was house hunting, but I have to say my mind has changed. As long as you follow some basic rules (trash times, speed limit in the community, etc.) there’s really no one bothering you.

About the roomies

About me: Hello future housemate! My name is Michael, I’m a 41 year old male who was born and raised in Spain and is now living and working here in Fort Myers after recently completing nursing school. I’m not new to the U.S., but I am to the Fort Myers area. I feel as if I have to apologize and say I’m not the fun party type; I’m the works-too-hard and is a bookworm because he’s also working on his advanced degrees to further himself type. Then again, I think some people are looking for that kind of housemate, no? I work at a nearby university and will start a Master’s degree in the next few months. I’m very, very conscientious, respectful, and aware of others when I share a place, which I have done a lot in my life, especially in Spain. I have great manners, am 1000% trustworthy, and I aim never to bother or inconvenience others.

About you: I want someone who is the same and appreciates a bit more of a structured house-sharing where the hours for rest and relax are sacred and the cleaning is shared and done on a schedule so no one is living like a dirty lazy bones. Nobody wants that. You are probably a driven working professional or dedicated student as well, and just need to find the best and nicest living situation possible with someone who wants to follow a few rules to ensure everything is clean and comfortable so you can focus on your goals. If this is you, and you’re honest and respectable, we’ll get along well. I will not accept anyone with pets or alcohol/drug issues, obviously keeps bad company, or has the intent to have their friend or partner over all of the time. This is for the career-focused individual who wants a nice, upscale, relaxing place to come home to. Honestly, I worked far too hard in getting to a place to obtain this house to have problems at home.
