We are seeking a tidy female roommate (30+ and drug free) to share our fully outfitted sanctuary of a home. - Located- West Asheville near the Westgate shopping center with the Earthfare. We are closer to downtown than the Haywood rd area of West Asvl. 3 min drive to downtown or $5 Uber if you want to go out downtown and not worry about parking. Something we have learned that is important and worth sharing to maintain the awesome groove we’ve had going. This home/room for rent is ideal for a young professional 9-5er that is naturally social and leans towards connecting with their housemates over dinner, hanging out etc. You either sleep like a rock (communal house means more noise) or have a morning routine M-F that has you up and moving by 7:30/ 8. We all start our day/get ready for work around then and don’t want to tiptoe around whisper over our morning coffee.

• May 1 move in or earlier is an option. -Open to short term lease or full year.
• First, last and a ½ a month rent as security deposit to move in.

Your sanctuary of a home includes:

• HOT TUB that Jenny keeps really nice and clean. Use is mostly for housemate use, but it’s cool if you want to have a few friends over and use it with you. No big parties w/hot tub use.

• A beautiful guest room for your occasional guests..
• Fully stocked kitchen (nice pots/pans, dishes, silverware..). Always welcome to combine your things too!
• Spacious and beautifully furnished living room, with working fireplace!
• Kitchen and living room have a full wall of glass doors that look out into our large private yard.
• Spacious grassy backyard with garden space, a fire pit and tall wooden privacy fence.
• Huge stone patio with comfy chill zone w/ really nice lounge chairs, a big table w/ chairs for outdoor dining. Perennial flower garden encompassing patio
• Laundry room w/ washer and dryer
• Private parking.
• Small amount of storage basement for a little furniture, bike etc…

About us…. Hi, I am Joel, my fiance is Jenny and out other awesome nestmate is Christine.. We are in our early 40’s and would love to welcome an awesome person to our amazing abode. Jenny and I run a tiny preschool/kindergarten together. I love books, TYT, nerd games, and my partner Jenny. I moved here from Chicago. Wisconsin Native. Jenny loves art, gardening, supporting her community and building solid friendships. We both love nature stuff, vegetable gardening, staying in/going out, having fun, being silly. GO BERNE! So Trumpers need not apply!

Jenny and I run a tiny nature program for 3-5yr olds Mon-Thurs out of our yard and a cottage on our land. If you have typical work hours out of the home as mentioned earlier in our post you would probably never even see or feel our tiny lil school in action. Jenny’s an extrovert. I’m an introvert. You can be either. However, if you tend to feel most comfortable closed off in your room while living with others then this is NOT the place for you! Creating a family-like feel is important to us!! We have. little bit of storage so this fully outfitted home is ideal for someone that has little furniture other than their bedroom and likes an artsy inspiring living situation that is already evolved :). The only thing we don’t have is a Ninja. Neither real nor the kitchen variety :), but we welcome either :)! Who doesn’t need their own personal ninja :)? LOL. Christine is also a bit of an extrovert and in her 40’s. She manages a doctor’s office near downtown. We are all pretty tight and enjoy welcoming the right housemate into our fold. She is an artist and a dancer (performs at Fringe), kind, communicative, friendly, fun, social, extroverted and an amazing all around person. She loves to be active and get out in nature hiking and camping too! We are all very welcoming and love the epic little friend family we have created here.

NECESSARY FOR US…. Stable employment or funds for paying rent on time. No drama queens/kings please. Healthy communicator. We strive to keep the vibes as high as we can while also understanding life is hard and we all need a safe container for sharing and supporting one another. This is crucial because the kitchen is one of the biggest shared spaces when living with others. We want to continue a family-like feel here so it’s best if you genuinely enjoy getting to know your housemates and would enjoy occasionally getting together for dinner, watching a movie, sharing a glass of wine, catching music or whatnot outside of the house. You have ideally lived with other people before and liked it. Or you didn’t like it because they DIDN’T OR DON’T have the same values we are sharing with you in this post :) We are conscious, woke, free spirited, chill yet hardworking, responsible folk!!! We expect the same.

If you’ve lived in Asheville while… You’re new to the area or need a place to call home every other week because you travel for work. This would be a great home for you and make some good housemate friends to boot!
