About the room

I’m going to be open and say you will have a hard time finding a better listing. It’s simply too good a deal given the current rent death spiral.

I will conduct a very informal interview during the tour if you are interested ( income, preferences, etc.)

This is a three floor condo in a “gated community”. It is in a suburban area of town only a few minutes away from 21. The area is quiet, safe and peaceful with trustworthy neighbors.

The construction is not too shabby, plenty of large windows and the sound proofing is pretty great; I have yet to hear a neighbor. It’s pretty good between the bedrooms/floors as well. No creaking when walking etc.

The apartment includes a garage with plenty of room. You are welcome to half of the garage. I once-or-twice a week charge my electric car in the garage, but there is enough parking in front for two vehicles. I just ask that when you park out front you maximize the space outside the driveway so I can pull in without you moving if needed. I will provide the same courtesy.

There is also free guest parking across the driveway. If it’s full the street outside the complex usually has plenty of room.

There is an “entrance room” with a spare room on the first floor that is unused (would make a good workout area or workshop).

The 2nd floor is an open floor plan spacious living room / dining area, kitchen, laundry room and .5 bath. The 2nd floor is quite spacious and all I really have in there currently is a dining room table and 4 seats. If you have/want furnishing I’m more or less open to anything as far as decorations as long as it doesn’t create clutter. You can use the spare room on the first floor if you need additional storage as well. It’s about the size of an average bedroom.

3rd floor is completely occupied by two master bedrooms with their two respective private bathrooms.

In the spirit of fairness, to cover the expenses of charging my car, my nicer master bathroom and somewhat larger bedroom (your bedroom is still relatively large. Mine just has an additional corridor) my rent is $200 higher than yours.

I’m open to sharing all the shared consumables e.g. paper towels / dish/diswasher soap, detergent etc. as well as my cups / dishes / utensils. However my things are on the mid price range. Utensils are about $20 a piece and dishes are $40 each so please be careful if you want to share. Pots/pans are in the $300 range (I like to cook). Haven’t had any issue in the past and, of course, there is plenty of room for your own stuff. There is a ton of cabinets that I could organize better if needed. There was so much space I didn’t think too hard about it.

Climate: The apartment is kept 72-74 degrees year round. I’m not much of a stickler for temp and keep a space heater in my room if you like it a bit cooler. I also tend to put it down to 70 downstairs when I’m not in there to save on the bills a bit.

Additional fees (your share):

  • Mandatory Renter’s Insurance 180$ (per year)
  • Internet 40$ (per month)
  • Heat/Gas/Water/Air: $75-150 (per month; I know, 3 floors remember).

Amenities: 2.5 bathrooms, central air Washer + dryer, Dishwasher, large 1 car garage, 2 parking spots in front of garage, visitors parking for guests.

About the roomies

Hello, my name is Zeus. I will be the only other roommate sharing the property. I’m relatively easy going adult and spend a good deal amount of time in my room or otherwise occupied.

Being a software engineer my computer occupies the majority of my time day to day. I am currently working from home.

I am on the cleaner side and prefer to keep the house relatively organized. Not that there is a lot to organize, haha.

If you regularly put your dishes in the dish washer and don’t leave them in the sink/counter-top, don’t keep things in piles on the floor in shared spaced, help with taking out the trash/recyclables, don’t party late into the night on work nights, you know just be a general decent person, we should be just fine.

I tend to get along better with people that are in STEM or in professional fields, but that’s just a heuristic.
