South Clark Street

I have a very nice, furnished three-bedroom townhome in the South Loop, across the street from Chinatown.

There is a large, newly-painted bedroom with a spacious closet for rent, available starting August 1 The bedroom and the house are furnished and comfortable. The neighborhood is a combination of urban and residential (I have a yard and a balcony that is great in warm weather: sunsets and fireworks), and the house is in a safe, gated community, in an area that is not yet overcrowded, so there is easy street parking and room to breathe. There are three easy bus routes that go downtown and further, as well as a red line Iel stop directly across the street. The house is also very close to all expressways and Lakeshore Drive. Michigan Avenue, the lakefront, and Millennium Park or a stone’s throw away, and you you could easily walk if you like to do that sort of thing. I enjoy walking to Roosevelt in the summer to take the Museum Campus bus (another great thing ) to 12th St. beach at the Planetarium. There is a music venue there and you can lay out and listen to the music later in the day! Always something new to discover ( if it would ever stop raining!) It is a diverse and interesting, developing neighborhood, and I love being across the street from Chinatown, close to Pilsen (the second Friday of every month the art galleries open their doors in the evening to show their work, you get to peek inside some lovely spaces, have wine and cheese and listen to the occasional band), and there are some cool places in Bridgeport! Chinatown is obviously another walking destination; just cruise through it, grab a bubble drink, and check out the Chinese grocery store on the way home (which is across the street.) Speaking of groceries, there is a Trader Joe’s, Whole Foods, two Jewel stores, and a Mariano’s two blocks away that is an easy walk up Clark (and at the end of Clark is …Target!) Besides Target, on Roosevelt there is lots of shopping of all kinds, a movie theater, and restaurants in the area. For anyone who is a student, or connected with Rush or UIC Medical Center, there is easy access to both of those, as well as UIC, IIT, DePaul, and National Louis downtown. The house is modern, I have a 30 ft atrium ceiling, so there is a lot of great sunlight in the house, and breeze in the warmer months (I open the balcony door and let in the smell of cherry blossoms from next door!) I also have a piano, if you’re so inclined, and two cats, who are very sweet (so you obviously can’t be allergic.) The bedroom is renting for $1200/mo, including utilities, although I am considering just sharing the heating bill, can be quite expensive, depending on its usage There is a smaller bedroom which my daughter has recently moved back into. She is 20 years old and will be transferring to UIC in the fall. The bathroom would be shared minimally (she will shower in my bathroom), and it is considered a guest bath, but would primarily be for your use. I am looking for an August 1 move-in date ideally, but am somewhat flexible ( I would like it to be soon!)
