About the room

Hey! I’m moving out of a great 3 bedroom duplex in Alphabet City/East Village at the end of February (but can make the room available earlier if needed!). The bedroom is large with a big east-facing window, closet and plenty of space for a queen/king bed, dresser, desk and all that good stuff.

The room is on the top floor of the apartment, along with the kitchen, full bathroom and another bedroom. Down the spiral staircase you’ll find a living room, half bath, the third bedroom and a pretty sweet backyard space (with a grill and some furniture to chill on as the weather gets a bit warmer).

The apartment faces the back patio, which means no street noise (plus!). If you’re not familiar with Alphabet City, it’s a pretty great neighborhood with a ton of restaurants, bars, cafes, mom n pop shops, plus Tompkins Square Park and the East River Park just a few minutes walk. The closest Subway is the F (2nd Ave Stop) or the J/M/Z/F (at Delancy/Essex) and just a few more blocks to the L (1st Ave). There’s also a City Bike station right outside and a ton of buses. And if you’ve got a dog/cat, the building is totally pet friendly.

The roommates are two great 30 year old guys, but one will also be moving out at the end of the month - so if you have a friend who’s also looking, the downstairs room will be open too! I’ve been here for 4 years and love the apt, roommates and neighborhood, but am taking the plunge to move into my own place (along with the pup featured in these photos).

Let me know if you’re interested to come check out the space. Ideally, you’d be subletting my room for the remainder of the lease which ends on June 30, with the chance to renew (no broker’s fee) if you want. If signing leases isn’t your thing, let me know and we can see about working something out. The room can be ready for move in the last half of February or 1 March, depending on what you need (my new apartment is already vacant, so I can hop over whenever).
