Looking for Female Housemates: We have 2 spacious bedrooms available in a house share for 2 female housemates. These are rooms with a walk-in closet and all the comforts. This is in a historic, storybook style home in Oakland. Reminiscent of English country homes and castles that the architecture is based on, this is a charming place to come home to at the end of the day. The bedroom is very special, light filed, and it is beautifully decorated.

The view in the rooms look out on the backyard patio and down the street towards other storybook homes. It has lots of sun light with multiple windows that make it feel open and warm. The furnishings include a clothes dresser, desk and chair, a padded chair for relaxing, rugs, colorful decorative pillows, a bookcase, artwork, and mirrors. The walk -in closet has lots of space, and there is also room under the bed for extra storage.

Your room has a new bed frame and full-size mattress. You will be the first one to use ever use them so they are in better condition than you could find in any long term hotel or Air BB. I also have a just purchased for the room: brand-new blankets, a new white cotton quilt with shams, new sheets, new pillowcases, and new pillows. (What’s old is the house itself and its charm- and if you like the vintage quilt at the end of your bed in the photo, you are welcome to use it during your stay.)

All in all, the place feels serene and homey, but it is near three colleges and two freeways. This is semi-urban living, close to the big cities. There is ample street parking.

Your room rental includes use of the kitchen and shared use of a beautiful house filled with sunshine. It also has an outdoor patio. The two bathrooms will be shared by the three of us. The building was built in 1926, and it has been beautifully updated and renovated. The kitchen and bathrooms, are clean and renovated. The house has an efficient dishwasher, washer, and dryer. Use of the new laundry machines is included in the rent, so you don’t have to go out of the house to do your laundry.

It’s located in a safe neighborhood block with lots of families. The house has a security system installed. Bills split three ways: gas & electric, water, garbage, and internet. Utilities charge is $150 per month.

Because we’re sharing the two bathrooms: female housemates only.

About the Roomies: There will be three females total living in the house: two roommates and myself. I am looking to live with respectful and kind professional adults who have active, busy lives. I am a working professional, friendly and respectful. Please be the same. A serious grad student or professional who lives out of the area but needs to work needs to work here during the week would be a really great match.

About you: a housemate who is mature, considerate, friendly, like me, and an excellent communicator. Someone who may very well want to hang out on occasion, but has a busy life. I like to live with people who love living in a beautiful home and are motivated to keep it in good shape. You care to clean up after yourself in the kitchen and other shared spaces. I am seeking a housemate who does not smoke (anything), and not a heavy drinker. No couples, no kids, and no pets. Totally fine if you have a partner who lives somewhere else. Must be COVID-19 vaccinated.

About the neighborhood The house is located very close to Mills College, Holy Names University, and Merritt College. Right near Highway 580 and Highway 13. Transportation Casual carpool and a major AC transit stop (High St and MacArthur) are close-by This includes stops that can take you to SF to the Salesforce transit center. AC transit stop (route 47) in just a short walk away. Uber /Lyfts are also plentiful in the area as well for your transportation needs.

Rent is $1100 month plus + 1/3 cost of utilities (PG&E, water, garbage, internet - $150 with thoughtful use of water and electric. First, last, month’s rent and security deposit are due prior to move-in. We are ideally looking for someone for a 1-year term with the option of month-to-month afterwards.
