About the room

The available room is a bedroom with an attached bathroom and private hallway that can be used as an office. It is located in the basement, but has multiple windows, is nicely finished, and feels minimally basement-y. Note: the ceiling drops down where the ducts are placed, so anyone 5’9“ or over is at risk of bumping their head on these ducts.

About the roomies

Located in the Northrup neighborhood of South Minneapolis, our house is the latest iteration of a communal living situation that has spanned over five years. Housemates have come and gone, but the core of the space has been maintained, and many wonderful long lasting friendships have started through living together. We live in a 3 bedroom house, with shared communal spaces (with the exception of one room that one person runs a candle business out of). Food is purchased communally and each housemate is expected to cook one communal meal a week. We spend time together by playing board games, watching movies, cooking together, and hanging out in the backyard. When we have groups of people over it is typically for brunch or a dinner party. We do not throw parties for large groups or have drinking/drugs play a central role in our day to day life or social activities. A typical day in the house could look like all the housemates spending their days living their individual lives and then coming together for dinner and a board game at night. Dinners together are wonderful, but there is no expectation that all housemates will be present for the communal dinners. Leftovers are great too!
