About the room
I live alone in a 4BR, 3 1/2 bath house. Well, alone unless you count my adorable Shih Tzu, which is hypoallergenic and almost never barks. Best little dog ever!
Anyway, I use one of the bedrooms for an office, and one is currently a home gym. So, there is a single bedroom available. The bedroom is 10โ x 11โ, and has a 6โ closet. It is already furnished with a dresser, a Sleep Number bed, and a small desk. There is a bull bathroom a few feet from the room.
The house is nice (I bought it new a few years ago), but not a mansion by any means. It is 2,300 sq ft, with a great living room and kitchen, a lot of natural light (I have an end unit with extra windows) and you are welcome to use the home gym. The development is about 120 units, and has outdoor common areas, including for dog walking and BBQ.
If you are not familiar with LA, I will be the first to say that Downey is not the hub of action in LA. But, it is central to a lot of places. I am 20-30 minutes from Long Beach and Huntington beach on the south, all the other beaches on the west side, downtown LA, LAX, John Wayne airport, West Hollywood, Pasadena, and Irvine.
About the roomies
I work at home (all the time, even when covid isnโt around). I am fully vaccinated. I have a PhD in molecular biology, and have also built and sold web businesses. So, if you are interested in such topics, Iโm happy to chat about them (or whatever - it is my hope that we would end up being friends, not that you are a recluse confined to your room).
What I expect from a roommate is that they be neat and considerate. I donโt party (well past that point in my life), and since I work at home, I am there most of the time. So, if you pick up after yourself and donโt expect to be having random gatherings that might disturb my work or sleep, we should get along well. If you are a bit moreโฆ boisterous, you might be better off elsewhere.
No type of smoking (including vaping) is allowed. I do not want my house to smell like that. I keep the house immaculate, and want it to continue to be that way.
By the way, I donโt cook (unless you count ordering from Uber Eats or pressing buttons on the microwave as cooking). But, if you do, great. I have a nice kitchen with all the pots, pans, etc. you might need.
If you inquire, please include a pic and a little about yourself (What do you do? When would you be home? What do you prefer to do when home?) so I have some idea of whether it is a good fit.
