About the room

Hi everyone!!

Here is a beautiful place in the heart of Glendale, a five minute walk to the Americana. It is a very quiet, family friendly neighborhood surrounded by bakeries, churches, local shops and nursing homes. There’s a mall with convenience stores (Ralph’s, Ross, Michaels’s) nearby and available bus lines to DTLA, Hollywood and community parks. We moved to this apartment about a year ago and have plans to stay long term. It is a spacious two rooms and one bathroom space with integral kitchen, wooden floors and laundry unit within the complex. For the room, it is a month to month lease, but we are looking for someone with a desire for a minimum stay of 6 months. A roommates agreement will be redacted with pre discussed boundaries must be signed together with the lease.

(pictures of shared spaces need to be updated since furniture and kitchen appliances have been added to the apartment)

DISCLAIMER>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

While we understand that many are looking for a fast, right away moving experience, we are certainly not. Giving this disclaimer seems important since we might take a few days and maybe a few weeks to find the perfect fit! We’d like to meet with you a few times and see if we get along! We will be living with each other after all, and it only seems appropriate to try and get to know each other//what we are looking for as much as we can before making a decision. With that being said, this is a neuro-divergent household (if you don’t know what that means pls google it!) and one of us has a disability so we are looking for someone who is accommodating, flexible and willing to stay consistent with pre-set boundaries. You must have a facility to communicate directly, since this is the only way to ensure we can all feel fully comfortable. We are not expecting that we will become best friends, but we do want to create an environment of common courtesy, empathy and most importantly a stress free zone. We don’t slam doors/drawers, we don’t interrupt each other, raise our voices, swear at each other. We don’t act passive-aggressively, these will behaviors will not be welcomed. Communication is key!

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

ABOUT THE ROOM/RENT/ACCESS: The room comes unfurnished, with integrated closet, AC and with assigned storage space in the house and extra storage space outside. You will be given a kitchen cabinet to put silverware/food but we have all the appliances and extra plates/cups you may borrow if you like! Now, the rent is $1300 a month, payed the first of every month, and this includes wifi, water, gas, trash and sewage services. The electric bill is shared and split evenly three ways, this is because the bill ranges through the hot and colder months. Rent prices can be for sure discussed. The space is currently occupied with an estimated availability until the first days of August.

RESPONSIBILITIES/CHORES: For the most part, Grace and I are always cleaning but we will split bathroom and trash chores with you during the week. Our golden rule is very simple! Clean after yourself and be considerate of the space you are in and of others! You are responsible for your own toiletry items like toilet paper and hand soap. Dish soap and cleaning supplies for chores are provided. Kitchen appliances must be cleaned after each use no exceptions. (Microwave, stove, oven, air fryer).

COVID-19: Even if we want to be over with this pandemic the reality is we still need to practice safe healthy measures to prevent viruses in our space. We sanitize and disinfect every day and we wear masks when we have the flu/cold/allergies. If you happen to get covid, you must tell us so we can take the appropriate measures.

ALCOHOL/SMOKING: We are every low-key with our alcohol consumption and we would like our new roommate to be as well! No smoking cigarettes inside, but we are 420/nicotine friendly as long as you are smoking from a vape//pen inside your room only.

NOISE/VISITORS: We both work full time jobs and keep a busy, energetic routine. Our mornings can start as early as 7ish AM and end at around 12PM. Quiet night time starts at 10 PM, meaning that we must reduce our noise level to the minimum. We play music from time to time but nothing wild since we do live in a complex with very thin walls and neighbors can be easily disturbed. Visitors are allowed but since we are most of our time busy, when we are home we like our space and privacy. Any visitors need to be previously discussed with enough anticipation (couple days is enough). No parties allowed or more than 2 guests at a time. No overnight visitors allowed.

PETS: Unfortunately we are not looking for a roommate with any pets. Small pets like fish/critters can be definitely considered, as long as your animal is well taken care of. We have two beautiful, friendly and energetic cats. Rei (1 year) and Mordecai (3 months). Besides keeping them from getting on any counters and avoiding to let them in the bathroom/your own room, they are pretty much all around the house. We keep them well clean, fed and groomed and they are the absolute apple of our eyes. It’s ok if you don’t like cats but smooth interactions with our pets are definitely something we are looking out for.

REQUIREMENTS: We need a few more things from you before we can finish up with our decision into moving in together:

-2 letters of recommendation (one from a previous roommate, the other is up to you)

-proof of income

-background check (through the roomies website)

(Please take a little longer to read a but about the roommates down below)

If you made it this far and you are still interested in this whole process and think this might be your new home, definitely hit us up!! Text/email us since it’s likely it’ll take longer to get back to you through the website.
