About the room
Spacious private room available on a short-term (month-to-month) or possibly longer term (after 3-4 months) sublease, fully furnished, hardwood floors throughout. This is an extra room we are not using in our 3-bedroom, 2 bath family home. We would prefer a minimum 3-month commitment.
Charming newly remodeled single-family house, bright open floor plan located in a quiet and very safe neighborhood with lots of trees, fresh air, views of the bay, and hiking trails. Next to California State University East Bay (perfect for students), a 5-minute drive to Downtown Hayward, shopping areas, BART Station (train), and easy access to San Francisco, the Bay area, and highways 880 and 580. Totally remodeled and upgraded, with beautiful granite kitchen counter-top and island. New central heating system and portable AC.
I am a single father to a 5.5 year-old-son who comes to visit/stay on the weekends. We are very respectful, quiet, avoid unnecessary drama, and speak English and Spanish. My young son is not noisy and we try to keep all other noise down. The ideal person should be comfortable with my son being around, be fairly quiet or respectful about noise, and kid/infant-friendly. We would, of course, do the same in terms of being respectful about noise and the shared spaces.
Looking for a mature, responsible, and financially stable person who would like to live in a clean, private and quiet place, preferably a working professional, and/or student. I am a financially stable working professional with a Master of Public Administration (MPA), and work defending worker’s rights. We are extremely quiet (don’t party at home), respectful, mature, very easy to get along with, zero drama, and very private (respectful of other’s space). We don’t smoke or do any drugs.
The ideal person will also have a good rental history, proof of employment, and 2-3 rental and/or personal references. If currently not working (i.e. going to school, etc.) or have no rental history, you would need to provide a 2-month security deposit in advance (negotiable based on individual circumstances). The ideal person would need to be responsible and clean, particularly in shared spaces (kitchen/bathroom/living room, laundry room, etc.).
We would prefer someone willing to commit to a minimum 3-month sublease then stay on a month-to-month basis if all works out. We would also be fine with someone staying for as long as needed (if it’s a good fit for both parties). This is all negotiable.

You can feed the dear and see wild turkeys.
