A sunny garden-facing bedroom with its own private bathroom is opening up in our San Rafael home. Available July 15th.

We’re sad to see our lovely housemate move on as she is returning to her hometown. We’ve been savoring harmony and community here together & we envision continuing that with our next housemate!

The house: beautiful 4-bedroom, 4-bath home of approx. 2,800 square feet with spacious common areas, an incredible “chef’s kitchen,” lush backyard, gardens, hot tub… and MORE!

We are located in San Rafael, in a quiet neighborhood that’s just a few minutes from Hwy 101 near the Marin Civic Center..

The house is fully furnished, with a living room, large kitchen, dining room, meditation room, and an electric fireplace. We also use the garage as a yoga/dance space instead of for parking. The backyard and patio includes a grill, and permaculture garden with (among other plants) rosemary, sage, basil, squash, wisteria, and delicious fruit trees. We also have a chemical-free hot tub. There’s a high wooden fence around the entire backyard, which creates complete privacy. It’s truly magical.

About the Garden Room: Approx 10’ by 12,’ with a large mirrored closet, windows to the garden, and your own detached bathroom with two sinks plus a shower/bathtub & toilet. There is a limited amount of storage shelving space available in the hallway outside this room and in the garage. Additionally, the room could be furnished with a 6-drawer dresser and two matching nightstands, or it can be unfurnished. Also, our housemate who is leaving is selling her full-size bed with bedframe, and a small desk.

Rent is $1300/month plus utilities. Utilities average $150-$200/month and include: Internet, Water, Gas & Electric, Solar Panel rental, Garbage, and Hot Tub Maintenance. In addition, we share the costs of a few household supplies. A deposit of $1300 is required at the time of signing the lease. Ideally, we are looking for someone who is wanting to create a long-term living situation, however, we are looking for the right fit and are open to those who may be looking for a short-term commitment. All sublease agreements will be on a month-to-month basis even if the tenancy ends up being long-term.

About the Housemates: Your primary housemates (ranging in age from early to mid-forties) will be Anita, Rachel, and Sara. Anita is a marketing director & writer who works full-time from home. She likes to stay active — she’s an avid hiker and practices Qi Gong. Rachel has been an instructor of non-violent communication for kids, event producer, community wrangler, and enjoys all things health and wellness. She currently works from home part-time and is studying health coaching. Sara is pursuing her graduate degree in Social Work and is a full-time student with a field placement beginning in August. We’ve found peaceful synergy in living together and are looking for that with our 4th addition to the house.

We keep the house clean and beautiful and desire someone who’ll appreciate and contribute to the cleanliness and sanctity of the home. We’re thoughtful, playful, and focused on the expansion of ourselves and our work.

We strongly value a joyful, relaxed, supportive, mutually beneficial, and uplifted home life. We do have a glass of wine now and then but besides that, we value sobriety and wish for a housemate with a similar lifestyle. No smoking on the property.
