Hello! We are renting out two rooms in our shared house - we’re looking for conscientious, communication-oriented, kind, and community-minded folks to rent one or both!

Our home is located in the heart of Southeast Portland! We’re just a short walk to Mt. Tabor and Laurelhurst Parks, and we’re even closer to the best restaurants and shops on Hawthorne, Belmont, and Division St. The location is perfect for bicycling anywhere throughout East Portland or Downtown - we’re nestled between greenways, public transit, grocery stores, and just about anything you might need. This truly is a perfect location for brunch-ing, coffee, parks, cycling, and enjoying the best Portland has to offer.

This old house is showing its age, but it checks all the boxes of a cute Portland house: we have an amazing front porch with fantastic neighbors, a large fenced backyard for humans and dogs alike, a vibrant garden, generous shared spaces in the living room, kitchen, and dining room, and a vast basement for storage. Our fireplace occasionally keeps things cozy on winter nights, and during hot summer days, you’ll find us sipping coffee or cocktails on the front porch or backyard picnic table. We come already equipped with two awesome cats roaming the yard and we’re open to considering any cat-friendly dogs and/or cats you may have!

We are a couple living in the upstairs bedroom of the house, and we will have up to four people total in the house. The two rooms we’re renting are on the main floor right next to the bathroom. We had been living with two parents, a toddler, and their dog - but they are about to have another child soon so they needed to expand to a new space for multiple kids and pets. This leaves one or both bedrooms for you!

The north bedroom is medium size (10.5x11.5ft) and features a full closet, high ceilings (8.5ft), a north-facing window, and a west-facing window to the garden and backyard.

The south bedroom is almost exactly the same size (10.5x11.5ft), also features a full closet, high ceilings (8.5ft), a south-facing window, and a west-facing window to the garden and backyard.

We’re open to renting these rooms either separately - or together to the right couple or person who wants two rooms.

-We’re looking to live with people who are good communicators, are caring and conscientious toward housemates and shared spaces, and are interested in a friendly, kind, and drama-free environment. -We’re mellow, but gatherings with friends on occasion are great! -We like to keep things tidy, but we aren’t sticklers for spotless perfection. -We have no eating restrictions in the kitchen, but we’re mindful and supportive of your dietary choices. -We’re 420 friendly but reasonably mindful of smoke in case it bothers anyone. -We are concerned about protecting everyone’s health in the house, so we use non-toxic cleaning products and try to avoid artificial scents - again, not sticklers but trying to be mindful. -We also care about justice and the environment, so we practice organic gardening, composting, and take steps to reduce our environmental impact and utility consumption. -We’re also politically active, we cherish non-violent communication and we proactively seek to address injustices - we’d love to live with people who feel similar!

*Also, we’re vaccinated, and mindful of our exposure to each other during this pandemic - which I’m sure we all hope will be over soon!

We share utility expenses for the house equally and our consumption is relatively low. We have a washer, dryer, and a spare fridge in the basement.

We have enough space that we can consider dogs, couples, children, or anyone who wants a spare room for whatever reason. We’re thinking that each bedroom will rent for $750 to an individual (an even split for everyone), although we may ask a little more if you have dogs, children, or other uses that impact the rest of the house. We can do month-to-month but we prefer longer term. We’re asking first, last, and security in order to move in - $2250.
