Hello! I am looking for someone to rent the available upstairs bedroom in my Vancouver home. There are currently two male housemates renting the other bedrooms. You would get a private room (11x11) with a closet, small storage area, parking for 1 car, and use of the furnished common areas including kitchen, living and dining rooms, laundry and covered porches. I remodeled the house seven years ago, and everything is still in great shape, including the kitchen, bathrooms, floors, paint etc. The house has central air conditioning and heating, off street parking, and the kitchen is stocked with cookware and dining ware you are welcome to use. You would share the bathroom with one other person. (We keep these areas very clean) It’s 2 blocks to a bus stop, near to I-205 and plenty of grocery stores, restaurants and businesses. 15 minute drive to Portland Airport, Clark College, and Washington State University. All utilities and internet are included in the $675 rent, and the $450 deposit is refundable. Lease is month to month but ideally looking for someone who intends to stay at least 6 months. No pets or animals (We have allergies), and no indoor smoking or vaping. Outdoor smoking of tobacco and cannabis is fine.

I am an occassional live-in homeowner, 42 years old and a self employed contractor/carpenter, often traveling seasonally for work. I only live in the house when a room is empty and I am in town for an extended period. When not working I spend my free time exploring the outdoors, cooking, being with family, traveling, or learning new things. Also sharing the house are two males, 35 and 42. We all are usually leading busy independent lives but we catch up in the common areas to chat and share an occasional dinner and conversations. You would be welcome to be as private or social as you want to be. The ideal person would be: A grad student or working professional, somewhere between 25-55, give or take.
Interested and engaged in what you are doing, together and functional, and a good communicator. I prefer housemates who do not drink, or who only drink on social occasions. Please be quiet and considerate, especially if people are sleeping, you take the time to clean up your messes as they are made, and do your part in cleaning the common areas. The most common disputes with previous roommates has been cleanliness in shared bathrooms and the kitchen.
