I’m looking for a roommate for my 2 bed / 2 bath condo apartment in the Oakland/Harrison Ave neighborhood near Lake Merritt. It is a .5 mile walk to the north side of the lake and .2 miles to Whole Foods! The apartment is in a relatively-small condo complex located on a quiet street. It is the corner unit so it has lots of natural light and the bedrooms look onto a courtyard. There is a small balcony accessed from the living room. We’re at the back of the building so it is very quiet and peaceful here. :)

The unit is 1000 sq. ft with lots of storage and big closets. The kitchen has an electric stove, microwave, dishwasher, and disposal. The laundry room is located just down the hall. Each bedroom and the living room have an electric heater. You will have your own bathroom! There is one assigned parking space for the unit that is included in the rent, so we can negotiate how to share that. Off-street parking is located nearby as well.

I signed the lease alone, so you would be added to the lease after going through a credit and reference check (required by the realty company). Your rent would be $1300/month plus your share of PG&E and wifi.

Hi, I’m AmyBeth. I’m 29, white, and a cis woman (she/her pronouns). I am currently in graduate school which is 100% online right now. I am very covid-conscious. I only hang out with friends outside wearing masks. I am looking for a roommate who is also taking these precautions (except if they have an established partner or pod that they trust). I have a 4-year-old cat, Rosy. She is sweet and would love to cuddle under your blanket if you let her in your room. Social justice is important to me and I prefer living with someone who shares the values of antiracism, feminism, LGBTQ-ally, and the like.

I’m a kind and considerate roommate. I keep common spaces clean but prefer a more relaxed approach to cleaning. I am okay with dishes being cleaned by the end of the day over immediately after you cook food. I am down to create chore charts to help keep the common areas clean. I have several dietary restrictions so I cook almost all my meals at home. I prefer a low-scent household. People who burn candles and wear perfume are not a good fit for me. Also, no smoking is allowed in the unit. No additional pets.

I like to be friends with my roommates. I’d like to live with someone who likes watching movies together or playing games. I am a musician and play the guitar and piano. I also sing.
