About the room

2br/2ba with private patios, row home apartment nearby Temple University. Ideal for a grad student, post-doc, working professional.

The apartment overall is humongous, the vaulted ceilings make it feel even bigger. Private Bathroom: yes! it’s huge, but not directly connected to the bedroom. I have my own bathroom downstairs.

Private Patio: yes! fake grass on concrete, fenced in, only you have access through your back door. I live downstairs, I have my own too.

Sunlight: tons! floor to ceiling windows on the back wall of your bedroom, receives most sunlight in the entire unit.

Noise: upstairs has a cat that runs around sometimes. Neighbors are super nice and quiet professionals, rarely party. I’m generally very quiet, prefer quiet roommates.

Storage: available under stairway and there’s also a big closet downstairs with water heater. There’s also the patio.

Landlord: very chill and professional. Fixes stuff and is generally super-responsive.

Parking: plenty on street, I have a car, generally never have problem.

Public transport: buses on 7th/8th go to Center city, train is like 15min walk, 5min bike ride (I bike to Temple for work, only 3min each way) Neighborhood safety: pretty good, it’s by Temple so there’s a moderate police presence. Also, neighbors are good. Between 6th and 2nd isn’t safe at night though.

Office space: there’s a second/third living room downstairs that we use as an office. Honestly the whole downstairs could be an office, I don’t ever really watch TV. I just workout down in the main living room area. I work from home for half the week.

About the roomies

1 current roommate with dog.

Me: 37 y/o, 3rd year Bioinformatics PhD candidate, Navy veteran, politically progressive but not pushy about it, dog-lover, gay cis-male, programmer, machine learning, nerd, video games, table-top RPGs, anime, MMOs, weight lifting, classical music, electronica, cleanliness 4/5.

Dog: Snurp is the type of dog who is immediately anyone’s best friend. He gets along with other dogs, but is very playful so he does best with big dogs. He’s lived with a cat, and gets along with them. I love cats. He barks a bit when people ring the doorbell. Not a chewer or aggressive. Cuddle-bug. Medium-sized, somewhat hypoallergenic mix.
