About the room

Our apartment is located on the 4th floor in a large, rent controlled apartment complex in the Outer Sunset. We are conveniently located near the N MUNI Metro line and the #7, surrounded by local grocery stores and family-owned restaurants. We are two blocks away from Golden Gate Park and about 2 miles away from Ocean Beach (roughly 30min walk).

Rent: $950/month + utilities (~$40 per person each month) Security Deposit: $650

THE ROOM

  • has a door leading directly into kitchen
  • a mid-sized space (about 12’x15’) with hardwood floors
  • tons of natural light
  • gorgeous view overlooking the ocean
  • comes with a large closet located outside the room in the hallway

THE APARTMENT

  • 1 bathroom with a tub and a shower (separate)
  • cozy full kitchen with a new electric stove/oven
  • dining space that can comfortably fit 5-6 guests (when coronavirus isn’t raging)
  • also get a wonderful cross-breeze, which is particularly helpful at a time where we’re stuck in our homes
  • 2 washing machines and dryers on-site as well as a clean and reliable laundromat 2 blocks away

About the roomies

ARE WE A GOOD FIT? We are looking for a third roommate who shares our values of transparent and compassionate communication and respectful communal living. We prefer to live with someone whose personal politics are rooted in community care and dismantling anti-Blackness, racism, transphobia, femmephobia, and homophobia, and understands the relationship between the personal and the political. Additionally, we’re looking for someone who is willing to co-create and honor the parameters we set around creating a safe and healthy living space as we navigate through an intensifying pandemic. In other words, if you’re someone who’s comfortable with running in public spaces without a mask, still visiting homies in their homes like it’s nothing, or unwilling to take extra safety precautions to prevent the spread of COVID-19, we’re probably not a good fit for each other.

ABOUT US S (she/they) is a 32-year-old Black, mixed-race, queer, cis, femme artist and cultural worker who was born and raised in SF. S spent the past decade working with Bay Area youth through various youth development programs and has a background in adolescent mental health and harm reduction. She got Big Auntie Energy and might offer you a tarot reading from time to time.

A (they/them) is a 28-year-old Taiwanese American community organizer from Los Angeles who found chosen family and home in the Bay Area. They’re involved in grassroots community organizing with queer and TGNC API folks. They dream of one day having 10 dogs and making a living as a fiction writer.

OTHER CONSIDERATIONS You would be living with a musician (flutist) who practices in her room about 60-90min a day, roughly 4-6 days out of the week. Flute can be surprisingly loud sometimes, but she never plays after 8PM and rarely before 9AM. She’s also down to negotiate a schedule.
