Lexington Avenue

Hi there! My roommate is moving out of NY by the end of September and I’m looking for a new roommate to take over this charming room for 1 year (10/1/2017 to 9/30/2018). The legal rent will be about $1300/month for each of us, electricity and gas are included in the rent. Security Deposit is also $1300, and will be returned when you move out. Additional fee will only be Wi-fi $25/month, and toiletry supply which we split every 2-3 months in bulk.

About the apartment: • Location: I’ve been staying here for 2 years and have been considered this place home. Our apartment is conveniently located within 5 minute walk to the green line 6 train on 96th St/ Lexington, and a few more minutes to the Q/T train on 96th and 2nd Ave. There’s a downtown bus right across from our street. Central Park is only 2-3 blocks away, CVS/pharmacy store is 1-2 blocks away, grocery stores are on 96th st, Wholefoods and Gristede about 10 blocks away. There are also a lot of cute restaurants and bars around. The area has been gentrified and changing a lot, and it’s really safe.

• The apartment: Our apartment is on the 3rd floor walk-up, honestly it’s not bad at all, considering all of the other walk-up buildings I lived before in Manhattan and Brooklyn :) Our place attracts a lot of natural sun light, and there’s window in every room. It’s also quiet during the day and night. There’s also a quaint roof top (nothing really fancy), but you can go up there to get some fresh air with the skyline view ( see picture above). The super lives in the building, and he’s very responsive by phone call.

• Your room: your room will come fully furnished, with a closet, wardrobe, bed, lamp and an AC unit (pic above). Currently there’s a sublet person in the room but the room will be ready for you by October 1st. We share common spaces including kitchen, bathroom and living room. Since we both love cooking and also try to be healthy :D, we’ve collected a lot of kitchen gadgets that you could think of. You are welcome to use them, as long as they are clean after use.

About me: I’m working in (software) tech startup. My schedule is normal 7am - 7pm. I’m looking for a clean, responsible, respectful, smoking-free and drama-free, ideally late 20s or early 30s. I’m fun and chilled, so occasionally I will host dinners for my friends and you are welcome to join or do the same, but please no parties or long stay-overs. We can talk about that when we meet. Additionally, we take turn to clean our common spaces every weekend so no “cute” bugs in our place :)
