Prospect Place

We’re looking for a new roommate to join us in our amazing 3-bedroom apartment in the heart of Prospect Heights.

Location: Prospect Heights on a lovely, quiet, tree-lined street. Near great restaurants and bars on Vanderbilt and Flatbush, Prospect Park, the Botanic Garden, the Brooklyn Museum, and many grocery stores. Truly a transportation dream: two blocks from the B/Q and four blocks from the 2/3, with the 4/5/D/N/R close by at Atlantic/Barclays. The neighborhood is very walkable and bikeable! We also love that Vanderbilt Ave is pedestrian-only on the weekends, with tons of outdoor dining options.

The Room: The bedroom has a large window and gets lots of northern natural light. The window looks out over the tree-lined street. It has a big closet and additional storage space. The room comes unfurnished, it fits a queen-sized bed, dresser, and desk with room to spare. It also has easy access to a large fire escape!

The Apartment: The apartment is a 2nd floor walk-up with a very large and airy furnished living room, a separate kitchen with standard appliances, and a shared bathroom. The building is four stories, friendly and respectful neighbors, and has roof access with beautiful views (perfect for getting some sun or enjoying a drink at the end of the day). The apartment has high ceilings and lots of pre-war charm throughout (like crown molding and original floors). The bathroom and kitchen are on the opposite side of the apartment from the three bedrooms. There’s room in the living room for your bike if you have one, too.

The Details: The room is available as of November 7th, flexible. You’ll join the remainder of our current lease until August 31 (with the possibility to renew the lease starting September 1). No fee. Move-in costs include first month’s rent ($1,145) + security deposit ($1,175). Utilities (wifi, electricity, gas) generally run around $60/month.

Two roommates in their late twenties. John is a serious foodie who enjoys reading, wine, the outdoors, and software development. Rebecca is a law student who loves biking, caring for her plants, and relaxing in the park. She’s worked in immigration legal defense before law school and is passionate about working for systemic change within and beyond the legal system. Both roommates are friendly, considerate, and clean people with fairly busy schedules. We both work most of the day from our rooms and also enjoy spending time in the common spaces (cooking, watching TV shows, etc).

We’re following all recommended COVID-related guidelines (mask-wearing when we’re out, social distancing, etc) and expect you to do the same.

We’re looking for a new roommate who is also clean and tidy and is also taking COVID precautions. Must be LGBTQ friendly, antiracist, and be a good communicator.
