THE HOUSE: 6 rooms (2 bedrooms) and 2 baths. Your large bedroom, (12’x13’) has 2 west windows. It gets great light, and your own bathroom. We share the rest of the flat; including a beautiful kitchen with a dishwasher, 5 burner gas stove and granite counter tops and great light. Also a furnished living room, a large utility room with w/d, a plant-filled patio deck. The house is between uptown and west Oakland, a 15 minute walk to 19th St. Bart and easy access from the 580/24 FWYs. Nearby shops include Whole foods, Sprouts, Target, Community Foods, Fire Brand Bakery. Less than a mile to Lake Merritt. Neighbors are a mix of young and old, are active in being good neighbors and friendly. The main reason this place is cheaper than comparable places is because it’s in close proximity to a homeless/not hopeless encampment. The city keeps talking about doing something and they have been picking up steam to create a solution, but it’s been a slow process. We’ve never been harassed by the folks and try our best to be good neighbors.
