About the room

We have a spacious 3 BR/BA, 2-story apartment in El Segundo. The three bedrooms are on the first floor and the shared living room, dining room, kitchen and balcony are on the upper level. The apartment faces west and has tons of windows so there is quite a bit of natural light, and typically a nice breeze from the ocean. The kitchen has a dishwasher and a new gas range. The upstairs is fully furnished and the kitchen is well-stocked with all sorts of small appliances and such. We have a washer and dryer in the unit. The room available is about 10’x12’ and has a decent size closet and 2 large windows that face west. The windows have vertical blinds but there are anchors in the wall above for easy installation of curtain rods. Everyone has their own full bathroom, and the bathroom that has been paired with this room is on the 2nd floor. In consideration of this, the occupant of this room also gets the carport parking spot.

About the roomies

We are 2 female professionals, both originally from the East Coast. After several years in event production, then film and tv, I am (sort of) currently producing and managing theatrical tours and live entertainment. I can spend quite a bit of time on the road, although at the moment my industry is at a stand still. To occupy my free time, I like to cook/bake, I paint or make things (crafts and small construction), see live shows and have been known to binge watch a tv series or two. Roommate #2 works for the FAA (currently working from home, but still keeping a typical M-F schedule) and enjoys outdoor activities, travel, a big mug of coffee first thing in the morning, and is an equal opportunity tv watcher. We enjoy each other’s company but have lives outside of the home so we do not need to rely on each other for social or emotional survival. Our home is really our haven. We keep it clean and are respectful of each other’s needs and belongings. Dinner parties and such are cool but party-parties just don’t happen here. The neighborhood is quiet and there are some neighbors that like to complain about noise. It is a smoke/drug free home and pets are not permitted per the lease. We do not have a problem with overnight guests or visitors (within reason), so long as there is some advance notice. Although we pass no judgement on anyone’s personal choices and encourage everyone to live their best life, we do prefer that overnight guest not be strangers you just met in a bar - it’s a safety thing, not a morals thing. Overall, we are pretty chill. We have been taking the pandemic pretty seriously as neither of us are interested in hosting a virus. If you believe in science and know that a global health crisis is not a hoax, that’s great. If you have been living life without a mask and as if there is nothing happening, this is probably not the place for you.
