About the apartment: It’s a rather large (takes up the whole first floor of the building) boxed 2 bedroom, meaning that the bedrooms are on opposite ends of the apartment and separated by a large kitchen/dining/living space. Located on a very quiet street about 2 blocks from the Grand St. L and 4 blocks from the Graham stop. We’ve lived in the apartment for the past 3 and a half years and really love the area, the block and the neighbors. The room is available for March 1st.

About the room: The room available is the back bedroom so it is really nice and quiet in addition to being pretty private due to the distance between the bedrooms. It’s not huge, but definitely a good size for 1 person (especially by NYC standards!), gets great natural light from the 2 windows, and the closet space is insane (see pic: closet extends all the way from the corner on the left to the exposed brick on the right). The room is unfurnished.

About us: My boyfriend and I are both 27 years old. We’ve been together for 4 1/2 yrs and have lived together for most of it, so no surprises in store. I work in the city as an office manager and he works in the neighborhood as a cook. We’re laid back but considerate and looking for someone with a similar mentality. IMPORTANT: We smoke in the apartment (mostly in our own room) and have a cat. We have a pretty hardcore air purifier but feel that the cat/smoke disclaimer is important to mention in case you have allergies/sensitivities.

What we’re looking for in a roommate: chill but considerate, not a neat freak but not a total slob, can pay the rent on time, ideally wants to stay for 6 months or longer but no big deal if you want to leave earlier–we just ask that you let us know a month in advance. We also cannot accept any additional pets. We love animals, but in our last apartment there were other pets and our cat was not very happy about it…

Cost: $1250 per month ALL INCLUDED! Apart from the standard amenities this includes high-speed wireless internet. 1 month’s security deposit and 1st month’s rent to move in. We would ask that you pay the deposit upon accepting the room, but the first month’s rent could wait until the first.
