About the room

About the space: This is a 3 bedroom, 1.5 bath unit that’s part of a triplex. Myself and another woman are looking for an awesome third roommate to make the third room their home.

Lease for this room starts Aug 1, 2020, at $700/month.

About the room: The third bedroom is the larger bedroom and has one window facing west that looks above our neighbors roof towards downtown. The closet stretches the length of one of the walls, with sliding doors, a high shelf and a rod for hangers. This room has a sliding door that enters the shared bath (feel free to use this, it hasn’t been a problem for anyone who has lived here). You could fit a king bed, a large desk (4ft x 2.5 ft), two bookshelves, and more. The only reason I’m not taking this room is because I like my south facing window and don’t have enough stuff to fill this room, but I’m not opposed to it either.

The three bedrooms each have carpet, closets, windows/curtains, and wall heaters. There’s new carpet throughout the home, all bedrooms are on the second floor along with the full bath. The half bath is on the first floor, along with a fake fireplace, lots of living room space, washer/dryer, a garage, a small deck, and a small yard.

Yes, really only $700 for the room along with your portion of the refundable security deposit- $333. The bills for each of us average ~$100/m (electricity, water/sewer/garbage, Wave internet).

About the location: This home is near the 23rd and Jackson intersection, close to the 48, 8, 4, 14 buses. There’s also plenty of street parking (can find a spot every single night even after 9pm).

About us: Hi! We are two early 30s women focused on our careers and health! :) We split utilities, are eager to consistently take out the compost/recycle/garbage (it’s easy, we don’t have to drag bins to the curb since the bins live in our alley), vacuum, keep dishes out of the sink, scrub the bathrooms, wash kitchen towels, etc. We keep the communication open with a group text thread and post it notes which has worked really well. My original roommate and the one leaving this large room is moving out (along with her cat) because she just purchased a home in Ballard (yay!). The remaining roommate is from OR and will be starting her teaching certification at the UW. I work at an independent school doing tech support and love it.

About you: Send us an email with info about yourself or anything you think would help us get to know you better (i.e. social media). We’ll also have you fill out an application so the landlords can do a quick background check for income and rental history. They are on the property at least once a week to do yard work, and have been so good to us.

About touring: We’ve been doing video calls with folx who are interested, then we set up a time for you to tour the home while practicing social distancing. We’ll email you the one page application, you can email that to our landlords directly. If we all feel like we’re a good fit we’ll get you the key and share info on how to venmo the right people. :)

This is such a great deal for such a well kept room/home in Seattle. The landlords would rather have respectful, responsible tenants than continue to hike the rent up, and we’re really, really appreciative of that.
