About the room

Hello ladies, due to changing work location, I had to move out of the Master Bedroom of a 2 bedroom/ 2 bathrooms top floor apartment and I’m hoping to find someone to move in with my roommate (young professional like me working for a tech firm in Menlo Park but easily commutes from Santa Clara as it’s much cheaper housing than Palo Alto). The current lease expires on Nov 8th 2020 and my roommate will be moving out to live with her family so you would need to find another roommate or cover the cost of the full apartment yourself ($3094) should you want to renew the lease. Rent is $1,550/month but I am renting it for $1,399 to hopefully find someone to move-in ASAP :)

The 1,120 square feet top floor apartment is really spacious! The room for rent is the large master bedroom with private bathroom (large shower, toilet and sink), walk-in closet and a massive additional wall-to-wall closet with sliding mirror doors (i.e. lots of storage available). I personally picked this specific apartment when I was looking for housing last year because the master bedroom is very big which was perfect for my king size bed, a desk, large TV & stand and still LOTS of room left for my at-home workout/yoga sessions during COVID! The apartment is on the second/top floor and I personally love not having to hear noises above me. Maybe this doesn’t matter to you but I’ve really enjoyed the fact that it’s a quiet community and I’ve never had to deal with loud neighbors ( coming home from work and being able to chill at home without having to deal with some obnoxious neighbors was awesome :)

The community has various pools, a gym, 4+ laundry rooms (in the year I’ve lived there, I’ve never had to wait for an empty machine to do laundry) which have all been renovated with brand new washer/dryers. The place is very pretty, green with lots of flowers, sand volleyball courts, ponds, fountains, ducks (those ducklings are so cute!)…

Parking is first-come first served inside the gated community and you will receive a parking permit & gate buzzer when you move-in. You also can purchase a covered parking spot for $100/month if you prefer.

Convenience: the apartment is a 6 minutes drive to Santana Row and Westfield Mall and 3 minutes drive to closest Starbucks, CVS, Lucky (supermarket). It’s close to Henry Schmidt park which has tennis courts and sports field with benches and a playground.

Standard Administrative stuff: please know that if you’re interested in the place, the leasing office will want to run a background check and you’ll need to provide proof of income (they ask for last 2 paychecks or if you have a new job, like I did last year, they just want to see the offer letter). This is pretty standard stuff for any apartment complex. You’ll basically be added to the lease until November 8th, 2020 and if you want to move out by then, you can or you can choose to renew (which is what I had done when I initially moved in last May 2019).

About the roomies

My roommate has been living in the apartment the last 4 years and loves the place, just like I did. She enjoys a quiet and clean place and hardly ever cooks (that meant I had the kitchen all to myself :P) . She rarely ever has guests over but she has no issue if you do. She’s a professional thirty something year old who enjoys relaxing after work in front of a good movie/tv show with a glass of wine. She likes yoga/pilates and during COVID, goes for walks in our local neighborhood.
