Hello, our names are nic and coal….we relocated up to phoenix a few weeks ago for a brand new career with AmeriCorps because my Peace Corps assignment got delayed for the obvious reasons.

I am deaf, Coal is my hearing service dog. I will be on assignment until the end of June and am looking to rent a room up until then. I do not smoke, do drugs or party, I am up early, bed early as I train for ultramarathons. My brand new job as creative arts coordinator, I work with adults with developmental disabilities…I will be teaching art classes virtually as we are not open until the end of February. Right now, it is just upper management and myself, I work on site 2-3 days a week and remote 2 days a week. I used to do physical therapy for work, I walked away when I got accepted to the Peace Corps, as I need a change of career, being exhausted at the end of the day every day.

I keep to myself, very respectful, very clean, very honest, I cook and clean and leave no trace, just some spices around the kitchen.

As an intern with AmeriCorps my salary has been cut to a fraction, and I only have about $600 monthly to pay in rent. I’m more than happy to clean and do errands/chores around the house.

Coal will be walked around the neighborhood, not to do his business in the backyard.
