Pele

Greetings! My name is Pele (pey-lay), I am moving to Washington from Oregon, seeking new community and land to fall in love with. Homesteading and land stewardship are deeply embedded in my routine. I love to chop wood, care for animals, and garden for hours. Cooking for one is near impossible so shared meals are usually a side effect of my time in the kitchen. I am a blacksmith and youth educator. I have been teaching for six years and smithing for four. I weave on floor looms, backstrap, and baskets. I do not drink and rarely smoke (weed never cigs), but I don’t mind being around them. I play music while cleaning the house but otherwise I like a quiet space. I have many years experience in communal living situations and have a patient resolve when it comes to problem solving. Where my food comes from is very valuable to me, I only eat meat that I have hunted, or was hunted or raised by someone I know. This means that I will sometimes bring home a fresh dinner, clean it, use every part from hide to bone, and make a meal to be consumed in respect of the life given.
