Description
Hello! Looking for moving in March 1 but would consider doing so a week or two earlier or later for the right place. I am an easygoing and quiet roommate looking for a place in NW DC or NoVA. I do not really need a lot of social interaction with my roommates, to be honest. I likely won’t be around much except weeknight evenings to sleep (not there during days or on weekends unless I’m attending an event or gathering with friends or planning a museum trip.). I am looking for a house or apt to share with others who are also non-smoking and non-drug-using–in other words, other mature (behavior-wise–I don’t care about age), quiet, professional, housemates. I am about 18 months away from federal retirement so looking to stay for a few months to start to make sure it’s a good fit for all, but hopefully find something that will work for that entire duration.
Private en suite bath ideal, but ok with a shared bathroom with other clean people who will respect a regular morning get-ready schedule that we all agree to. Likewise, a shared kitchen if possible with people who clean up after themselves like I do– but also I’m ok with just a small table or counter space and power outlets for a microwave, toaster, kettle and/or coffeemaker, and a small fridge, in my own room (and obviously keeping it clean and not letting food or dishes sit around). Parking would be ideal and internet and cable would be great (I would bring a small TV), but could look into a mobile hotspot if necessary. Utilities included ideal.
Again, while not averse to it I don’t HAVE to share a living or dining room or TV area, etc.; I’m pleasant and sociable, but equally happy just being in my own company and hanging out in my room reading or watching TV–just as if I were in a hotel room on business travel. On Friday nights and weekends, and possibly some weeknights, I will happily be at home with my SO and our combined cat family in the Eastern panhandle of WV. My request for a roommate arrangement is simply designed to shave off several hours per day of commuting time due to the changing fed telework policy; I was up to 80% teleworking before and now will be reporting to the office every weekday–and that is a long commute from home that adds up over the course of a week.
Thank you for considering me!
