I am a 40 year old professional working in the non-profit health field. I am looking for a studio or one bedroom apt in Rochester ( I am flexible on locations), but I am also open to renting a room in a house if it means access to more amenities and I feel that it would be a good fit interpersonally. My price range is $500 to $650, or less, naturally.

I have good credit (740 Equifax), own my own car, have no criminal record (I’d be willing to pay for a record check if it is a great situation), have no pets–though I enjoy cats, dogs and whatever else–big animal lover here.

I am an amateur artist (Prisma-colored pencils, mostly), studied Philosophy for my undergrad (I am a practical guy!) and hold a Masters in Psychology. I am originally from South Jersey and spent most of my time, while in the US, in Philly, but I lived nearly 8 years overseas in Japan, Ireland, Vietnam, NZ and the Cook Islands.

I am very personable, enjoy reading (big part of my life ), cooking, discussing ideas, helping people ( I am a childhood cancer survivor so that oriented many of my priorities and sense of life). I am politically Liberal but I prefer not to discuss politics socially, unless I am cracking jokes or watching Seth Myers with a buddy.

While I am 40, I feel I can relate to a diverse range of ages and demographics. When I was younger I had older friends and now as I age I can relate to people in their 20’s too. For many years I worked in the HIV/AIDS field so socializing with the LGBTQ community is 2nd nature, as a straight ally. I am mature but not stodgy, recognizing that there are many ways up the mountain of life.

If you think I could be a good tenant, or housemate, please do reach out. I am looking to move in about a month, but I am flexible and not held strictly to a lease at my current place—though I have no aversion to leases.
