Hi there! My name is Tariq and I’m looking to move to Portland, ME from Easthampton, MA. I’m a software engineer building my skills in tech to help address Climate Change. I have a background working in kitchens as a line cook and working as general laborer on construction projects. I am also looking to get involved in local environmental initiatives and causes in and around Portland and explore what the city has to offer. I am a music lover, food lover, and bookworm who loves animals and enjoys good humor. I currently work remote and will most likely be home a lot of the time because of it. I’m a super friendly introvert and home is where I like to recharge and cultivate my sense of self. As such I will always be respectful and kind towards your needs and I will expect you to do the same for me. Clean and organized shared spaces, especially the kitchen, are honestly a must for me. Not so much out of compulsion but rather out of a deep satisfaction that comes from consistently maintained living spaces. When you share a space with anyone it’s like a constant expression of respect to maintain the shared space and that’s just awesome to me. That being said I’m also a really tolerant and understanding human so it’s not like I’ll ever get mad or anything about something like that just know I will speak up and challenge you to show up if it ever actually becomes a problem and will certainly respect you doing the same for me if the shoe ever ends up on the other foot.
